RIAC match: Beverley Koranteng-Aitkins with Young People's Puppet Theatre
RIAC is delighted to have matched Beverley Koranteng-Aitkins as a trustee with Young People’s Puppet Theatre (YPPT), an arts education charity using puppetmaking and puppetry to boost life skills, aspiration and engagement with education among disadvantaged children.
Beverley is a lawyer and is passionate about the impact creativity and innovation can have on education and society as a whole. She says: “I am thrilled to have joined Young People’s Puppet Theatre and to be able to support such an amazing organisation with my skills and experience. I strongly believe in the power of creativity in developing skills and building confidence in young people. YPPT’s mission speaks squarely to this, bringing the wonderful world of puppetry to disadvantaged young people to inspire them to think beyond any limits that they or others may have placed on them.
I am incredibly grateful to RIAC for connecting us, its guidance and support during the process was invaluable. I am also pleased to be a part of the RIAC wider network and actively encourage all those interested in arts & culture to find out more and get involved.”
Caitlin Duschenes, Associate Director of YPPT added “We’re delighted to have Beverley join our board, and very grateful to RIAC for matching us! We approached RIAC as we had a skills gap on our board and were looking for a lawyer. Beverley is a perfect fit – enthusiastic about our work, knowledgeable and with the legal expertise needed to support our executive. She has suggested some great ideas to help our development and we are excited to get going with her on them!”
