RIAC has matched marketing executive Meryn Pillay, with Icon Theatre whose board she joined last month. Icon is an award-winning theatre and participatory arts charity whose activities include outdoor and promenade theatre productions; an award-winning young people’s programme; and participatory theatre in schools, drop-in centres and criminal justice settings.

Meryn has 22 years experience as a global marketing leader, and is inspired by the power of the arts to educate and unite communities and cultures. She says: “I’m excited to join Icon and be part of an organisation that exists to nurture young people from all backgrounds to experience the power of performance and the magic of what art and culture brings to our world. Icon is an innovative organisation that cultivates this transformative power in future generations so they can both contribute to, and benefit from, these skills and experiences.
