In July 2023 RIAC matched new trustee Lizzie Pencavel with Applause Rural Touring – an arts organisation which connects artists and performers with local communities across Kent, Sussex, Essex and the wider South East.

Katherine Portman-Smith, Applause Rural Touring’s Chair says: “Lizzie is a great new addition to the board for us so thank you to RIAC for making this happen.”

Lizzie is Communications Lead at the Greater London Authority who is hugely passionate about arts and the creative industries. This is her first trustee position.
“Being able to help and support local culture with Applause is a fantastic opportunity for me that wouldn’t have come about without RIAC. This is a cause I’m invested in both professionally and personally and it’s wonderful that RIAC were able to pair me with such an awesome organisation. I hope to be able to be a fruitful contributor helping to put creativity at the heart of community.”

Lizzie will be mentored in her new role by Louise Katerega, one of RIAC’s mentors who has many years of experience as both a trustee and practitioner, particularly with inclusive and community organisations.
