RIAC is delighted to have matched Sophie Spink with AWA DANCE as a new trustee. Sophie is currently a Senior Project Manager at CAA Portas, a leading sports management consultancy. Based in Birmingham, AWA DANCE is dedicated to the leadership development of women and teenage girls, using the transformative power of dance as the tool to empower their voices.
Sophie says: “I am very excited to be joining AWA DANCE as a Trustee, supporting the vision of a world where every woman and girl is an empowered and brave leader, both in their personal and professional lives. I have been amazed by Avatâra and her team’s passion and commitment to promoting a new understanding of leadership through dance. I am very much looking forward to contributing to a charity that aligns with my passion for gender equality and has synergies with my current work in women’s sport. Thank you to Cecile and the RIAC team for facilitating the connection and supporting me through the process.”
Avatâra Ayuso, Director, AWA DANCE, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Sophie to AWA DANCE’s board. Sophie brings a warm, dedicated, and proactive presence, and her expertise and vision will be invaluable to the development of our charity. At this pivotal moment, marking five years since our founding, new perspectives and global outlooks are essential to enriching our feminist mission. We are deeply grateful to RIAC for facilitating this meaningful connection and look forward to the journey ahead with Sophie.”
