RIAC match: Rachel Sears & Eavesdropping - June 2024

Just before the summer break we were pleased to confirm that RIAC candidate Rachel Sears has joined the board of eavesdropping, an artist-run charitable organisation for the sharing of new music and new ways of thinking about music.

Rachel, who works at the National Foundation for Youth Music and has a background in music and education, says: “I’m really excited to join the board of eavesdropping for my first role as a trustee. eavesdropping’s focus on new ways of thinking about music, artist development, and community building through an ethics of curiosity and care resonates strongly with me. I’m looking forward to exploring the ways I can support eavesdropping to sustain and develop its work, and for all that I will learn from being part of such an open and dynamic board. Thank you to RIAC for connecting us and for your continued support through the process!”

Eavesdropping’s founder, soprano Juliet Fraser added: “Discovering RIAC and their fantastic match-making work has been a game-changer. There’s no doubt that we wouldn’t have found Rachel without their help, and it is really exciting that she has agreed to join our board. Appointing Rachel — with her passion for good financial management and her openness to experimental music (which is somewhat rare!) — makes us feel much more confident about this next phase of eavesdropping’s journey.”
